Map & Directions

Found in the beautiful Ozark Mountains on 10,000 acres of land that starts in Missouri and stretches over the state line into Arkansas, Dogwood Canyon is a nature lover’s paradise with awe-inspiring views of the landscape and wildlife everywhere you look. Just south of Branson, the park is located 16 miles west of US Highway 65 on Missouri Highway 86. Dogwood Canyon is a Bass Pro property that was first obtained by its founder, Johnny Morris. It is now maintained by a nonprofit organization called Dogwood Canyon Foundation that has made it their goal to protect and preserve the lush flora and fauna that call this park their home. Some of the landmarks that visitors have access to are trails that seem to weave endlessly along the canyon floor, trout-filled streams, hand-built bridges, several breathtaking waterfalls and plunging, aquamarine pools.

Perhaps some of the most interesting information about the park lies in its cultural history, which stretches back to the period when Native Americans inhabited the area. Archeological excavations of age-old burial caves on the property have uncovered artifacts and confirmed human remains thought to be the oldest ever found in Missouri, dating back to 6000 B.C.

Dogwood Canyon offers visitors an experience that you cannot get anywhere else in the area with a huge variety of activities. Walking and biking along the self-guided, 6 mile, paved trail that winds throughout the property are the most popular activities enjoyed by guests. Access to the trail is $12.95 per adult, $8.95 per child and $2.95 per dog. Bike rentals are available on site for an additional fee. Another crowd-pleaser is the Wildlife Tram Tour that consists of a 2 hour, guided journey in an open- air tram. This tour takes guests on a ride along the canyon floor, past the waterfalls and Glory Hole all the way into Arkansas. Just after the state line, American bison, elk, whitetail deer and Texas longhorn can be observed at a close, but safe distance.

Some other favored activities include: horseback riding, cattle drives, the best trout fishing in the area, private guided jeep tours, Segway tours and group adventures. As an ideal spot for events, weddings often take place on site and at Hope Wilderness Chapel, making a perfect backdrop for beautiful photographs.
