The Ralph Foster Museum is located on the College of the Ozarks campus near Hollister, Missouri and has been there since the 1920's. Over time, the museum has become one of the Midwest's primary institutions of historical preservation. Dr. Robert M. Good, the president of College of the Ozarks, took an interest in the thought of a museum on the campus. He made space available in the basement of Abernathy Hall, surprisingly a boy’s dormitory. Eventually the dorm was vacated when funds were finally provided to the adaptation of the whole building into a museum. The primary focus of the museum today is to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit items relating to the Ozarks region. One of the most famous pieces on display is the original vehicle used in the old television series “The Beverly Hillbillies”. Guests will also find antiques, weapons, and other items from all around the world which have been added to the museum over the years of its existence.
